Look Deep Into My Eyes

I was taking a lazy moment this Sunday to catch up on my favourite dog blogs. First up was fashionista Bunny at Tales and Tails and I was immediately struck by how thoughtful she looked. Then I headed to my buddy Brown Dog and thought WOW great minds think alike, another great Black and White photograph! So I had another sip of my coffee and it hit me. I'm a little slow off the mark today, it's new blog hop!! Double bonus I am thinking! A new DOG blog hop that is also a PHOTOGRAPHY blog hop. Nice to meet you Penny at "My Life In Dog Years"

I am a big fan of black and white photography but for some reason, I have never converted one of my own  photographs. What I love about black and white photography, is how it doesn't have a lot of distractions so one aspect of the photograph will stand out. If you want to see the colour version it is [HERE]. Which one do you like best? I'm leaning towards this one I think.

52 Week Dog Photo Project

I had an epiphany! OK I didn't, I stole a great idea. *shame on me* I'll start at the beginning.

First comes dog -  then comes walks - then comes Mom with the camera case! Hobby photographers, during the film camera era, consisted of a small, select talented group. With the onslaught of digital cameras, shutterbugs are popping up everywhere! 

About 4 years ago when DSLR's were becoming affordable, we got Kodee (who I might add was not so affordable). I believe the conversation at our house went like this. "Since your getting a dog, I decided I'm getting a camera to document your expense err I mean experience". Men. {Opps. Thinks to self. I wonder how many male readers just stopped following me?}

Pup-arazzi Photo Tips

I stumbled across a fun, dog loving film masters website called The Dog Files. It's the creative genius of Kenn Bell who combines his professional skills as a filmmaker with his love of dogs. Dog Files creates educational, funny and creative videos on obviously DOGS. It was here I found the helpful video "Pup-arazzi Photo Tips" featuring Jeff Tisman. The video gives good advice on how to get the best from your own efforts photographing your dog.

I came across an old promotion for Denise Bibro Fine Art in New York Exhibition: Gone to the Dogs. This event was held last fall (October 8 - November 7, 2009) and displayed works of art by well, dogs!

Westminster 2010 Dog Show!

It's that time of year; the holy grail of the dog world, 134th Westminster Kennel Club, Dog Show. Starting today February 15, 2010 and continuing through tomorrow, this is where the best of the best come to compete.

That fabulous poster to the left was designed by Artist Trish Biddle   to commemorate the 2010 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Fetch Photos

Have you visited Fetch Photos? Yup as my daughter says "shameless self promotion!" I am by no means a great or even good photographer. But I just love taking pictures while out on our adventures with Kodee and Becky. I don't see the point in taking pictures unless I display them somewhere.
