Nothing Beats Puppy Breath
Tell me it's true? Your my new Mom - oh please!
Sweet Calvin is a very lucky pup indeed! This little gem of a fellow headed to Lessons From and For 4 Legs last week. Katie and I met through our blogs about 2 year ago, so it was a lot of fun meeting her when she flew to Toronto for her new puppy.
Seriously, who can resist puppies - indulge me some more while I bombard you with more CUTENESS!
Brother! Have Mercy - You Win!
Bucky is another little awesome dude that has an amazing home except this one is close so I no doubt, will be in his poor face for years to come snapping his picture ;)

Little Man Sharpening His Daggers
You can't buy loyalty, they say
I bought it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship, tried and true,
But just the same, I bought that too.
I made my bid, and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small
I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start
If you think these things are not for sale,
Buy a brown-eyed puppy with a wagging tail.

Go Fetch!
When seeking to purchase a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, the Cavalier Fanciers of Southern Ontario suggest you will want to discuss health testing for;
- Heart (yearly, Mitral Valve Disease by a Board Certified Cardiologist)
- MRI (Syringomyelia)
- Eyes (every other year by a Board Certified Ophthalmologist)
- Hips (x-ray, once)
- Patella (once)
Early in 2012, a new DNA test became available for Dry Eye and Curly Coat. Read about it [here]

Getting To The HEART Of The Matter
Talk, Talk, Talk.
Talk is cheap. Now listening. That's a talent!
~~~~
So Becky started Agility. She loves it and moves at the speed of lightening!
Me... oh my, two left feet trying to remember turns, commands, directions... I'm a train wreck!
Good thing she is a fast learner, loves a challenge and is all wag!
Becky thankfully forgives my imperfections.
Offer a bribe - I mean reward and she is game to try anything new!
Cavaliers are wired to please and they do with all their heart!
Each night Becky and I return from class, Kodee almost runs me down to sniff Becky all over. I get the impression Kodee does not trust me to see to it no harm comes to Becky. Then she turns, looks at me and snorts, trots off and leaves the room. For the better part of the next 24 hours I get a cold shoulder.
Well someone is acting temperamental, aren't they!
Hey! What do we have here?!
Yes! A Cavalier on the cover of this month's DOGSport Magazine!
Call Me Stupid!
Say What? I am not supposed to call my dog breed a Cav? Who says? Why not? Oh dear. Why must I always be so difficult and discuss these things publicly. Sorry, but...
Someone started a Facebook Group to tell those of us that do - we are wrong. Oh oh... you see the real problem here don't you? Someone told me I was wrong!!
Strattfordshire Dogs Come in 2's. How About Your CKCS Household?
I wonder if in the 18th century people already knew of a CKCS's desire to be in multiples? Upon getting Kodee, my breeder warned me, I'd get another. I scoffed. Not me, I have never owned more than one dog at a time. Yes, and I had also only owned Labrador Retrievers and one crazed Doberman. The Doberman is a whole nother story!
The ROYAList of Cavaliers; More Than a Pretty Face
Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels excel in so many ways. Most people think of them as "Lap Dogs". True, a Cavalier will always make itself at home on the nearest lap, but they are so much more! Don't forget they are also descendants of the Spaniel. True to their heritage, Cavaliers have an excellent sense of scent, they are quick on their toes, graceful movers who can whip up a zoom in a moments notice. People not really familiar with this breed, make the assumption they are low key, low energy, low motivated dogs. So NOT true! [Read More... ]
